WHY YOU SHOULD EAT INDONESIAN FOOD IN AMSTERDAM

When in Rome, right? And when in the Netherlands, eat Indonesian food. What? Yes. The rijsttafel, or rice table, is an Indonesian bonanza of small side dishes. It will set you back around 30 euros per person, but it’s essentially a private buffet for you and your friends. You sit. The waiter brings you endless amounts of food. You eat. Everyone wins.

Don’t be afraid to ask what everything is, and how you’re supposed to eat it. Go only when you’re really hungry. After a day of sightseeing, that shouldn’t be hard to do. Straight from the Rijksmuseum, we took a short stroll to Sama Sebo. You might want to take a long walk in Vondelpark afterward to burn off some of those calories.
