OSSEO, WISCONSIN – You may never plan on visiting a small Sconnie town like Osseo. But maybe one day you’ll find yourself driving from Chicago to Minneapolis. You’ll cruise down 1-94 when suddenly a Norske Nook billboard will catch your eye. EXIT IMMEDIATELY.
Here’s what we can tell you about the Norske Nook. It’s Norwegian. Rumor has it that the waitresses have to sew their own clothes. You can buy breakfast, lunch, or dinner here. But let’s get to it — they have pie.
These pies are so popular that they may run out of all 39 flavors by the end of each day. These pies are filled with so much delicious-ness that it hurts your biceps when you pick one up. These pies are so damn good that you will dig into it with a spoon by yourself in your car as you continue to drive up to Minneapolis. It’s OK. Don’t be ashamed.
P.S. Save the pie tin and bring it back to get a reimbursement good toward your next pie purchase. (Yes, you’ll be going back for more.) FYI there’s other locations in Rice Lake, Hayward, and Eau Claire.
